At Great Harvest Lakewood, we LOVE great bread. We love everything about it, from milling the wheat from scratch to the hot, fresh taste out of the oven.

Hot Bread Out of the Oven....

Our bread making starts at 4:00am each morning and it is a 5 hour process before our first batch of hard work comes out of the oven as delicious bread! Please keep in mind that it takes 3 more hours for all the rest of our breads to come out of the oven. So between 9 and noon is when our bread is literally "hot out of the oven."
For our breads that we slice, it is necessary for them to cool a little.
If you are looking for a particular bread please give a call or ask us when you can expect it to be ready.
We just don't want you disappointed if you come by and the bread isn't ready yet, but we are always happy to sell "hot out of the oven" bread!

We are real people, using real ingredients, making real food! Thank you for understanding what it takes to accomplish this.

Gluten Free

We offer two Gluten Free loaves; Sunflower Flax Millet and Flax Cinnamon Chip, pictured above. We usually bake every Tuesday and then freeze what is not sold so it is available for the rest of the week.
We also have Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies, available in singles or six packs.

I offer this statement for those concerned about gluten contamination in our gluten free products:
All products are "made in a facility that also produces and handles wheat, barley, and rye products."
All of our Gluten Free products contain dairy.
We take precautions to prevent cross contamination but since we are a bakery that mills wheat, please ask if you have any concerns.

Whole Grains and Your Health

Do you know how easy it is to get your recommended minimum serving of 48 grams of whole grains a day?

Every morning we stone grind our Whole Wheat kernels into 100% whole wheat flour. That means we use the whole grain, nothing is taken out or sifted off (like white flour).

Eating whole grains means better cardiovascular health, and lowers the risk of hypertension, stroke, diabetes and some forms of cancer. Whole grains also decrease bad LDL cholesterol and contain fiber, which helps you feel fuller for longer which can help with weight management.
